objective To investigate the reationship between Left ventricular remodeling and ascending aortic anterior wall motion ve-locity in Patients with Essential Hypertension .Methods:Study subjects were 100 hypertensive subjects and 50 normal controlled subjects. Left ventricular mass index(LVMI) and relative wall thickness(RWT ) were by using two dimensional ultrasound, Ascending aorta distensi-bility (AD)and aortic stiffness index( ASI)were checked through M type ultrasound . We examined aortic upper wall by using quantitative tissue velocity imaging (QTVI)and measure systolic velocities Vs,early diastolic velocities Ve,late diastolic velocities Va.Results1.Ob-tained by QTVI technique in hypertensive patients with anterior wall of ascending aorta velocity of Vs, Ve were lower than the control group (all P<0.05), is negatively related to Vs, Ve and ASI, and positively correlated with ADC (P<0.01).2 The anterior wall of ascending aorta velocity Vs, Ve were negatively correlated with RWT (P<0.05), was negatively correlated with LVMI (P<0.01)Conclusion Left ven-tricular remodeling and ascending aortic anterior wall motion velocity is closely related in patients with essential hypertension.
