Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of imiquimod 5%cream in preventing the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum after electrodesicca-electrodesiccation. Methods:97 patients of condyloma acuminatum were randomized into treat group and control group.all the patients were treated with electrodesiccation firstly; the treat group was treated with imiquimod cream 3 times a week,the control group was treated with recombinant human interferon (α-2b)gel 4 times a day,and course of both groups for 12 weeks.Results: The recurrence rates in treatment group was 8.16%, the control group 29.17%after 12 weeks of treatment. There was a significant difference between the two group. Conclusion: It is better Choice of imiquimod 5% cream in the prevention of condyloma acuminatum relapse after electrodesiccation.
