Folding Performance and Modal Response Analysis of Deformable Wings of Aircraft Imitating Beetle Hind Wings
A biomimetic design concept based on the folding mechanism of beetle hind wings is proposed to construct a spatially deployable mechanism with a high folding rate. The folding performance and modal characteristics of deformable wing aircraft are simulated and analyzed by ADAMS and ANSYS software respectively. The kinematics simulation of ADAMS software shows that there is no motion interference phenomenon when the deformable wing is folded. The analysis results of ANSYS software show that the deformable wing aircraft can maintain the best structural stability under different vibration modes. Finally,XFLOW soft-ware is used to simulate the biomimetic deformable wing. The results show that the biomimetic deformable wing can gather dense leading edge vortex, tip vortex and trailing edge vortex, thus producing enough lift to overcome its own weight.
