Application of Phased Array Automatic Tandem Scanning Technology in Pipe Circumferential Welding
This paper introduces the principles and characteristics of ultrasonic automatic tandem scanning technology and its application for inspection of circumferential welding of CRC groove.Combination of automatic tandem scanning and PAUT phased array inspection technologies can ensure complete detection and accurate quantification of defects of the entire welding area.Through comparison with AUT automatic ultrasonic inspection technology,it is proved that this method can replace the AUT inspection method which is with high cost,heavy equipment and difficulties of data analysis and interpretation.
