Evaluation on Resistance of Tobacco Cultivars to Powdery Mildew
To collect the germplasm materials of tobacco resistant to powdery mildew (Erysiphe cichoracearum DC),21 tobacco cultivars were selected and inoculated with the fungal isolate,which was kept by Tobacco Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences,in greenhouse in 2011.In 2012,15 tobacco cultivars were selected and inoculated with an isolate of E.cichoracearum DC,which was collected from Sichuan,in an isolation chamber.The results demonstrated that sun-cured tobacco Tangpeng was immune to both isolates.NC89 showed high resistance to the disease.Beihartl000-1,K346 and Jiyan No.9 possessed medium resistance to powdery mildew.Zhongyan90 and CF203 were highly susceptible to the disease.Longjiang911,G140,TI245,Zhongyanl00,Yunyan87,Yunyan85,Zhongyanl03,Honghuadajinyuan,Cuibi No.l,G80,NC55,Nanjiang No.3 and Jingyehuang were medium or high susceptible to powdery mildew.Hicks showed different resistance to the two isolates with no obvious regularity.
