In order to investigate the regional characteristics and spatial distribution of flavor style and aroma note of Xiangxi tobacco,the sensory evaluation of 41 tobacco leaf samples from Xiangxi tobacco growing areas was carried out.The results showed that:1) The flue-cured tobacco leaves from Xiangxi featured slightly significant to sort of significant robust flavor style with the main aroma notes of hay-like,burnt-sweetness and burnt scents.2) The burnt-sweetness and woody scents differed significantly between leaves from different counties,while the robust flavor style,hay-like,pure-sweetness,nutty,burnt and spicy scents did not.3) The robust flavor style of cv.K326 was more obvious than that of cv.Yunyan87.4) The tobacco from the areas at an altitude of above 900 m had more evident robust flavor style.5) Spatially,the intensity of robust flavor style,and hay-like,burnt,nutty,woody,pure-sweetness scents of Xiangxi tobacco leaves decreased from north to south; the intensity of burnt-sweetness scent decreased and that of spicy scent increased from east to west.
