On Inheritance and Development of CHU Xin's Selected Works of the Eight Great Writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties from MAO Kun's Notes of the Eight Great Writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties
As the first widely circulated anthology of the Eight Great Writers of Tang and Song Dynasties,Mao Kun's Notes of the Eight Great Writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties have had a certain impact on scholars'acceptance of Tang and Song Dynasties and the compilation of anthologies of Tang and Song Dynasties since its publication.Chu Xin was one of them in the early Qing Dynasty.Chu Xin compiled the Selected Works of the Eight Great Writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties, inheriting Mao Kun's"Wen Chao"in the selection, style and thought. However, due to the influence of the ideological and stylistic changes in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the inheritance of"Lei Xuan"to"Wen Chao"has changed again.
