On Integration of Agriculture and Tourism Promotion of High-quality Development of Small Towns:a Quasi-natural Experiment Based on Selection of National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration Counties
Based on the county panel data from 2005 to 2020,the paper analyzed the influence effects and mecha-nisms of the integration of agriculture and tourism on the high-quality development of small towns by using the multi-stage difference-difference method and the mediation effect model.The results show that:(1)Demon-stration counties significantly promote the high-quality development of small towns.(2)The role of demonstra-tion counties in promoting high-quality development of small towns are heterogeneous with the regional economic environment,the distance between counties and prefecture-level cities,and the level of high-quality develop-ment of existing small towns.(3)Labor transfer and capital accumulation play a partial mediating role in the im-pact of demonstration counties on the high-quality development of small towns.According to the results of empir-ical analysis,the paper put forward policy inspiration from three aspects:increasing the selection of demonstration counties,differentiated policies of governments at all levels,dredging the transmission mechanism of labor mar-ket and capital accumulation.
