Comparison of Symptoms and Health-related Quality of Life in Patients with Schizophrenia of Different Genders
Objective:To examine whether there are gender differences in HRQoL in patients with schizophrenia,and to explore the relationship between gender and symptoms of schizophrenia and HRQoL Method:1315 schizophrenia patients who received treatment in our outpatient department from June 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the re-search subjects.Use PANSS scale for symptom assessment,SF-36,EQ-5D,and SQLS for HRQoL related as-sessment,and compare gender differences in symptoms that affect HRQoL Result:There is a high correlation be-tween PANSS anxiety and depression symptoms,positive symptoms,negative symptoms,and HRQoL Among women,higher negative symptom scores and anxiety and depression symptom scores are associated with higher SQLS,lower SF-36,and EQ-5D scores.In males,higher positive symptom scores and anxiety and depression symptom scores are associated with higher SQLS,lower SF-36,and EQ-5D scores.Conclusion:The HRQoL of male patients with schizophrenia is higher than that of females.Negative symptoms,anxiety and depression symptoms have a greater impact on female HRQoL,while positive symptoms,anxiety and depression symptoms have a greater impact on male HRQoL
