Has Urban-rural and Regional Differences in the Structure of Ordinary Junior High School Teachers Disappeared?——A Comparative Study Based on High Education,Professional Titles,Disciplines,and Gender
Using educational statistical data,this paper analyzes the urban-rural and regional differences in the structure of ordinary junior high school teachers in Beijing Tianjin Shanghai,eastern,central and western regions.Research has found that there are significant urban-rural and regional differences in the proportion of full-time teachers who graduate from graduate school.The urban-rural differences are the largest in the central region,and the regional differences between Beijing,Tianjin,and Shanghai and the eastern,central,and western regions are expanding;There are significant urban-rural and regional differences in the proportion of full-time teachers with senior professional titles,and the urban-rural differences are gradually expanding;There are significant urban-rural differences among teachers in sub-jects such as sports and health,foreign languages,science,music,and art;The proportion of female teachers is on the rise,with significant urban-rural and regional differences.The regional differences be-tween rural junior high schools in the western and central regions are expanding.The high-quality and balanced development of rural junior high school education requires measures to promote the balance of ed-ucational qualifications,professional titles,disciplines,and gender in the teacher structure.
