Influence Factors and Pathway Analysis of Digital Transformation of Universities:Based on the Dynamic Capabilities and Resource Orchestration Theory
Educational digital transformation is the significant way to build a high-quality digital education ecological environment.However,most existing studies discuss the theory and practical path of digital transformation of education,and rarely explore the factors affecting the digital transformation of universities and their combined action path from an empirical perspective.Based on this,the research takes 25 universities as case samples,based on the dynamic capability and resource orchestration theory,adopting the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis method,and exploring the multiple concurrent factors affecting the digital transformation of universities and their action paths from the perspective of configuration.The results show that:firstly,the factors affecting the digital transformation of universities include digital perception,digital learning,digital innovation,resource construction,resource integration and resource utilization.There is no single factor as the necessary condition for the digital transformation of universities,and multiple factors are the driving force of the digital transformation of colleges and universities.Secondly,the paths to promote the digital transformation of universities can be divided into two types:resource-oriented and digital-innovation-oriented.Digital learning and digital innovation are important factors to enhance the effect of digital transformation of universities.Thirdly,there are three combinations of ways to inhibit the digital transformation of universities,among which the digital perception factor is missing in all cases,and the lack of resource construction and resource integration is also an important factor to inhibit the digital transformation of universities.In addition,the digital transformation level of universities is affected by the development level of the country and universities,and there is an unbalanced phenomenon,so we should pay special attention to the social system elements in the process of digital transformation of universities.By explaining the multi-dimensional factors affecting the digital transformation of universities and their complex action paths,it reflects the systematic characteristics of the digital transformation of education,reveals the complexity of the digital transformation of universities,and provides an empirical basis and theoretical reference for the digital transformation of education.
