Development of Learning Confusion in Online Learning Environments:A Systematic Literature Review of Empirical Research
Learning confusion has the potential to impact learning outcomes,serving as a catalyst for deep processing and playing a crucial role in complex learning activities.While online learning environments enable learning to transcend temporal and spatial boundaries,they also engender heightened levels of learning confusion.Therefore,there is a pressing imperative to investigate strategies for managing learning confusion in online learning environments with the aim of fostering online deep learning.This study conducts a systematic analysis of domestic and international empirical research literature from perspectives such as the research standpoint,stimulation modes,identification methods and the design of scaffolds for regulation.The article predicts the research trends of learning confusion in future online learning environments:firstly,there is a need to optimize analytics techniques to capture optimal confusion zone;secondly,there is a necessity for situational migration to stimulate optimal confusion experiences for online learners;thirdly,there is a require to improve confusion identification and enhance the ecological validity of monitoring techniques in learning confusion research;and fourthly,there is a demand to refine the design of scaffolding to increase its personalized application in confu-sion regulation contexts.The article provides a reference for the exploration and utilization of the value of learning confusion in the online environments.
