The smart digital foundation for new educational infrastructure is essential for driving the high-quality development of Chinese-style education modernization.Its development must move beyond knowledge sharing to focus on supporting equity,high-quality talent cultivation,and the sustainable growth of education.The new generation of generative artificial intelligence(AI),exem-plified by ChatGPT-4o,offers a powerful catalyst for this transformation.Building this smart foundation requires aligning functions with needs,ensuring efficient and equitable resource distribution,and coordinating expansion with development.It should encompass physical learning spaces,digital twin-enabled learning spaces,and smart learning spaces,with generative AI,such as ChatGPT-4o,integrated across all levels of the system.This integration will create a new evidence-based educational model,foster innovative col-laborative problem-solving contexts,and establish cross-domain,equitable,and standardized classrooms.To realize this vision,re-searchers must develop a comprehensive framework for the smart digital foundation of educational infrastructure,advance the applica-tion ecosystem,explore models for high-quality education,and accelerate the development of specialized large language models for e-ducation.
