Since the Just and Development Party(AK Party)came into power in 2002,Türkiye has gradually changed from a recipient country to a net contributor in international development cooperation,and has become an important member of emerging donor countries.In this process,Türkiye's institutional construction led by TIKA has become more and more perfect,and the scale of aid mainly based on bilateral official development assistance has been expanding,and the regions and areas of assistance have become more concentrated on the basis of diversification.Türkiye has also actively expanded its relationship with traditional international donor organizations and enhanced its status and influence as an emerging donor country.The main reasons for Türkiye to strengthen its foreign development assistance include:to embody Türkiye's identity;to coordinate the transformation and adjustment of diplomatic strategies and policies;serves security and political interests;driven by economic power and economic interests.To some extent,foreign development assistance has enhanced Türkiye's international influence and helped recipient countries at different levels.However,from the perspective of sustainability,effectiveness and balance,Türkiye still faces multiple challenges.
