The government has always attached great importance to the physical health level of primary and secondary school students.Using questionnaire survey, literature review, data analysis, and interview methods, this study investigates the current situation of physical exercise among overweight primary school students in Huai'an City.Research has found that under the implementation of the"double reduction"policy in recent years, overweight students in Huai'an Foreign Language Experimental Primary School can basically ensure one hour of exercise time per day,and the average exercise intensity reaches a moderate level. However,in terms of extracurricular exercise, families of overweight students exercise less frequently, and many parents fail to fulfill their obligation to timely supervise and assist students in physical exercise.Overweight students in the upper grades of primary school, due to academic pressure, have significantly reduced physical and mental stress resistance, which can lead to various problems such as timidity, withdrawal, and lack of social adaptation. In response to these issues, strategies for physical exercise for overweight students have been proposed to promote improvement in their physical fitness.
