Epidemiological Study on Spinal Health of University Faculty and Staffand Analysis of Related Factors
In order to analyze potential spinal health issues among university faculty and identify their risk factors,120 Jilin University faculty and staffwere recruited to conduct subjective questionnaires and objective evaluations of their spinal health status. The survey found that 57%of teachers and staffhave varying degrees of abnormalities in their static posture evaluations in front view, side view, and back view;29%of faculty members experience bilateral spinal asymmetry during forward flexion movements;43%of faculty members have abnormal multi segment anterior flexion of the spine;Abnormal rightward rotation movement pattern of the cervical spine and deviation of the spinous process line from the midline(P<0.05)can be used as predictive indicators for positive flexion test. From this,it can be seen that university faculty and staffgenerally have poor posture, which is closely related to their spinal health problems.
