Brief Review on Polarimetric SAR Systems and Polarimetric Calibration Accuracies
A brief review has been conducted on the progress of typical spaceborne and airborne polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR)systems at home and abroad, for which the implementation of radiometric and polarimetric calibration accuracies has been focused and surveyed.First the general requirements for the polari-metric SAR data calibration accuracy have been drawing from literature research, and then the status quo of rep-resentative polarimetric SAR systems in the word and the system data calibration accuracy achievements have been systematically presented, including the relative radiometric calibration accuracy, the absolute radiometric calibration accuracy, the polarization channel crosstalk accuracy, the polarization channel amplitude imbalance accuracy, and the polarization channel phase imbalance accuracy, etc. Finally, the key factors affecting the cali-bration accuracy of polarimetric SAR data have been analyzed, and the future calibration tasks meeting the new polarimetric SAR system design has been briefly discussed. This paper comprehensively describes the calibra-tion accuracy information index of polarimetric SAR systems and their development status, and provides rele-vant researchers with timely, comprehensive and systematic information on the development requirements of po-larimetric SAR systems and the research progress of calibration accuracy achievements.
