TT&C and Communication Subsystem Design and Verification of China's Tianzhou Cargo Spacecraft
The flight process of the Tianzhou Cargo Spacecraft encompasses the ascent stage, independent flight stage, rendezvous and docking stage, and berthing stage, among others.During the rendezvous and docking stage and the berthing stage,it and the space station are concurrently situated within the same telemetry, tracking, and control(TT&C)coverage area.If the conventional spacecraft TT&C scheme is employed, the cargo spacecraft and the space station would respectively occupy the resources of the ground-based and space-based TT&C stations, resulting in substantial consumption of telemetry, tracking, and control resources during the prolonged berthing of the cargo spacecraft at the space station. To address this issue,a TT&C and communication scheme is proposed, which involves constructing an integrated network of the cargo spacecraft-space station-ground and establishing in-space communication links among the spacecraft. One of the spacecraft serves as an active repeater, enabling simultaneous TT&C and communication for multiple spacecraft via a single spacecraft-space-ground link. This effectively enhances the utilization rate of the TT&C stations'resources and also improves the backup capacity of the telemetry and communication links for large spacecraft assemblies. In the design of the integrated cargo-station-ground network,a transmission scheme was put forward, where the network packet length is matched with the link frame length, increasing the channel utilization rate by 10%.The effectiveness of this scheme has been verified through ground and flight tests, providing a solution for simultaneous in-orbit TT&C and communication tasks for multiple spacecraft.
