The Current Situation,Role, and Optimization of China-Central Asia Education Cooperation from the Perspective of High-Quality Economic Development
The modern education cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries began with the establishment of the first Confucius Institute in Central Asia in 2005 and the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University in 2007,and achieved rapid development during the"the Belt and Road"period.Up to now,China and the five Central Asian countries have formed stable cooperation mainly in five aspects:higher education cooperation platforms, vocational education cooperation platforms, language and cultural exchanges, international students and scholarship mechanism, and Central Asian branch campuses of Chinese universities. These collaborations help regional economies achieve high-quality development of"innovation""sharing"and"openness"by improving total factor productivity, narrowing income gaps, building language and cultural bridges, and enhancing service trade. In response to the problems of small scale, slow development, and disconnect between education and employment in China-Central Asia education cooperation,China should change its cooperation strategy of emphasizing the East over the West, work together with the five Central Asian countries to promote practical cooperation in discipline construction, improve employment and residence policies for foreign talents, and take multiple measures to enhance the scale and quality of education cooperation.
