Analysis and improvement of pulling fracture of 65Mn spring steel
Using a combination of chemical composition, mechanical properties, macroscopic morphology, metallographic examination, and scanning electron microscopy, the causes of tensile fracture of 65Mn wire rods were analyzed. There is severe Mn,S,and P segregation at the crack hole in the center of the sample, which is the main reason for the tensile fracture of 65Mn wire rod.At the same time, the control of silicate inclusion content is too high, which increases the probability of tensile fracture.By controlling the superheat of ladle steel within 30℃,increasing the alkalinity of LF refining slag to 3.5,controlling the soft blowing time after refining for more than 10 minutes, and controlling the continuous casting speed at 1.9±0.1 m/min,the problems of core segregation and wire breakage in 65Mn spring steel have been solved.
