Research on Self-propagation High-temperature Synthesis of V1.8Nb0.2AlC Solid Solution
The V1.8Nb0.2AlC solid solution is prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis technology with vanadium powder,niobium powder,aluminum powder and graphite powder as raw materials to prepare raw material mixture according to V:Nb:Al:C=1.8:0.2:1:1(molar ratio).The composition,structure and microstructure of the synthesized products are characterized by X-ray diffractometer(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM)and X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS).The results show that with the introduction of Nb element,the characteristic peaks of(002)and(110)of V2AlC shift downwards from 13.62° and 63.92° to 13.24° and 63.36° respectively,indicating that V1.8Nb0.2AlC forms a solid solution,and the V1.8Nb0.2AlC solid solution has a typical MAX phase shale layered morphology.
