Research on Strength Characteristics and Slope Stability of Strongly-weathered Red Sandstone Soil under Dry-Wet Cycle
As a common soil in engineering,strongly-weathered red sandstone soil is easily affected by hydrological factors under dry-wet cycle conditions, which leads to the change of strength characteristics and causes trouble to engineering safety. In view of such problems, this paper tests the strength characteristics of strongly-weathered red sandstone soil under dry-wet cycle conditions and the influence of dry-wet cycle on slope stability through dry-wet cycle experiments. The results show that when the number of dry-wet cycles of strongly-weathered red sandstone soil reaches more than 4 times, the stability coefficient of the slope is less than 1.0,which will lead to slope instability.
