Discussion on Safety Performance Influence and Protective Measures of Submarine Cable under Coral Reef Geology
Coral reef geology is a typical feature of the surrounding waters of the South China Sea islands. The coral reefs in the South China Sea have special geology, and there is a problem that submarine cables cannot be buried deep.Under the influence of various complex environmental factors, exposed submarine cables are extremely vulnerable to damage. In this paper, the risk assessment of the damage to the safety performance of submarine cables caused by various complex factors such as construction, fishery activities and marine biological attachment is carried out,and the failure mechanism is analyzed. At the same time, combined with the actual situation of submarine cable laying and operation and maintenance under coral reef geology,a number of submarine cable protection measures are proposed, which will provide more support for the reliable operation of submarine cables under typical coral reef geological conditions in the South China Sea and ensure the safe operation of the system.
