Stability Evaluation of the Expansive Soil High Slope in a Power Plant in Xieng Khuang Province,Laos
A power plant in Xieng Khuang Province of Laos is located in the piedmont slope area with large undulations and fragmented terrain. The stratum is mainly composed of expansive soil and mudstone. After the site is leveled according to the design elevation,an artificial expansive soil high slope is formed around the plant site.Because the stability of the slope is directly related to the safety of the power plant, the consequence will be serious once there is damage. Therefore, this paper selects the typical slope to conduct stability evaluation of the potential slope damage through plane sliding and circular sliding. The evaluation results provide important basis for the design and treatment of the high slope of the power plant.
