Larsen steel sheet pile is widely used in foundation pit supporting engineering because of its good supporting characteristics.Based on the case of deep foundation pit excavation of urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery, this paper carried out on-site monitoring, studied the stress and deformation characteristics of Larsen steel sheet pile, and the influence of foundation pit excavation on adjacent surface settlement. The results show that during the excavation of the foundation pit,the maximum horizontal displacement of the steel sheet pile top is 14.6 mm,and the maximum horizontal displacement of the pile body is 22.4 mm,which meets the requirements of the specification for the horizontal displacement of the foundation pit retaining structure;the earth pressure around the steel sheet pile is nonlinearly distributed with the depth distribution curve, the shape is roughly R-shaped,compared with the classical Rankine's earth pressure distribution curve, there is a slight difference, and the peak earth pressure at the bottom of the pile reaches 163.8 kPa;with the increase of the distance from the pit wall, the surface settlement shows a pattern of first increasing, then decreasing, and finally stabilizing in the area, and the maximum surface settlement occurs near 6 m from the foundation pit;the peak value of the adjacent surface settlement reaches 18.6 mm,which meets the requirement that the surface settlement around the foundation pit should not exceed 30 mm,indicating that the design of using Larsen steel sheet piles as support for the deep foundation pit is reasonable.
