Analysis on Static Characteristic and Static Stability of Continuous Beam Bridge with Thin-walled Pier
Taking a continuous beam bridge with dou-ble-limb thin-walled piers on Shenzhen-Shantou West Expressway in Guangdong Province as an example, this paper analyzes the influence of different pier wall thick-nesses on the bridge superstructure, pier body static char-acteristics and overall stability through Midas numerical model. The following conclusions are drawn:The order of influence of pier body thickness on the bending moment of the bridge superstructure is side span, main span, left limb fulcrum and right limb fulcrum. The thickness of the pier body significantly affects the bending moment of the pier top and the pier bottom, both of which increase with the increase of the wall thickness, and the maximum change occurs at the bottom of the left limb pier, which is 23.14%.The thickness of the pier wall has little influence on the overall stability, and the stability safety factor under each working condition is higher than the design specification value. The research results can provide reference for bridge engineering design.
