Feasibility Analysis of Replacement of Electricity-Driven Air Compressors with Steam-Powered Air Compressors
In response to the problem of high electricity consumption in the air com-pressor station, the feasibility of replacing the electric centrifugal air compressor in the air compressor station system with a steam-powered air compressor, with an absorption chiller driven by steam from the plant supplying refrigeration to the cooler of the compression heat regeneration adsorption dryer, was explored. This solution can effectively utilize the steam generated from the waste heat of the plant, reducing power consumption and operating costs. However, the cost of steam calculation has a greater impact on the system revenue, for in-dustrial production sites that require a large amount of compressed air and have more waste heat that can be utilized to generate steam,steam-powered air compressors instead of electricity-driven air compressors is a viable option.
