Cause Analysis of Gearbox Tooth Breakage in Wind Turbine
To address the problem of gearbox tooth breakage in wind turbine,the causes of gearbox tooth breakage were analyzed by using body microscope,spark discharge direct reading spectrometer,scanning electron microscope,energy spectrometer,metallurgical microscope and other methods.Macroscopic test results show that the fracture occurred inside the gear,and the frac-ture form has obvious macro fatigue characteristics.Microscopic observation of the fracture source and extension of the fracture zone showed fatigue bands,combined with that the macro-morphological characteristics can be identified as fatigue cracking,and the fracture source area is relatively rough which was apparently different from the matrix area,the results of the energy spec-trum test shows that there are non-metallic inclusions in the fracture source area.The final results showed that the gearbox tooth breakage was due to fatigue fracture caused by the presence of non-metallic inclusions inside the gear.
