Pilot Study of Blast Furnace Treatment of Cold Rolling Chromium-Containing Sludge
The cold rolling process of iron and steel production generates a large amount of chromium-containing wastewater in the process of pickling, alkaline washing,elec-troplating,etc.After the chromium-containing wastewater is concentrated and treated, the precipitate is chromium-containing sludge.Chromium-containing sludge is a kind of hazard-ous waste, which needs harmless treatment, but the cost of harmless treatment is high, and chromium-containing sludge is very easy to produce secondary pollution during storage,trans-portation and harmless treatment. For this reason,it is proposed that chromium-containing sludge be returned to the blast furnace as raw material for nearby digestion of chromium-containing sludge. It is also proved through tests that the chromium in the sludge can be re-duced into the molten iron without affecting the quality of the product, thus realizing the purpose of self-digestion of chromium-containing sludge in the iron and steel plant.
