Discussion on Heat Storage Scheme for Flue Gas Waste Heat Utilization in Electric Furnace
The short-flow electric furnace smelting production belongs to intermittent production, the energy efficiency of electric furnace flue gas waste heat utilization has been low.The traditional recovery method adopts waste heat boiler with the heat accumulator as a cache device, generating low and medium temperature saturated steam for the generating unit to produce electricity.Recently, some scholars have proposed the concept of flue gas molten salt energy storage, which uses molten salt to recover flue gas waste heat from elec-tric furnaces and molten salt energy storage system to replace the steam accumulator as an intermittent production caching unit,so as to improve the quality of the steam and increase the power generation. In order to analyze and compare the technical and economic perfor-mance of the two solutions, the technical and economic performance of steam heat accumula-tor energy storage and molten salt energy storage is compared with the example of a 75 t/h electric furnace in a steel plant in Sichuan.Through the analysis,it is concluded that the use of steam accumulator as a cache of energy storage method is technically and economi-cally superior.
