The influence of campus atmosphere on the experiential avoidance of junior middle school students in minority areas of western Guangxi:The mediating effect of social-emotional competence
Objective To analyze the mediating effect of social-emotional competence on campus atmos-phere and experiential avoidance.Methods A total of 820 adolescents as the research objects were selected by cluster sampling method from December 2021 to July 2023 in Baise city,the experiential avoidance,social-emo-tional competence,and campus atmosphere of adolescents were measured by a questionnaires survey.Results The experiential avoidance score of female was higher than male(t=4.620,P<0.001);The experiential a-voidance of adolescents was negatively correlated with campus atmosphere(r=-0.234,P<0.001)and so-cial-emotional competence(r=-0.189,P<0.001);Social-emotional competence had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between experiential avoidance and campus atmosphere,and the mediating effect ac-counted for 18.57% of the total effect.Conclusion The campus atmosphere of adolescents not only affects their experiential avoidance directly,but also influences the experiential avoidance partly through the mediating effect of social-emotional competence.
