A high-basic sinter is used in blast furnace smelting because of its good performance in pulverization reduction rate and soft melting performance. However, the content and different forms of calcium ferrite in sinter will greatly impact the quality and performance of sinter. Therefore,it is vitally valuable to study the influence law of calcium ferrite content and morphology on the properties of sin-tered ores.In the paper, the influence of sintering time on the content and morphology of calcium fer-rite in sintered ore was investigated. The effects of calcium ferrite content and morphology on low-temperature pulverization performance and reducibility of sinter were also studied. With the increase of sintering time, the content of acicular calcium ferrite with high compressive strength in sinter decreases gradually, which leads to the decrease of mechanical properties of sinter. The sintering process will gradually transform hematite into magnetite, which will increase the internal stress and make the sinter easier to pulverize and break.
