In the cold rolling process of strip steel, the coiler is a key equipment to ensure product quality. The tension of cold strip steel coil directly affects the quality and dimensional accuracy of the strip.Proper tension rolling can reduce the rolling load, make the plate shape straight, and improve the surface quality of the strip. Therefore, there are strict requirements for tension control during cold rolling. In order to obtain high-quality strip steel,it is necessary to set appropriate tension, and be able to maintain constant tension under various interferences. An analysis was conducted on the influencing factors of tension fluctuation in the entrance section, and the key factors affecting tension fluctuation were identified. The expressions for speed and torque that affect tension fluctuation were derived.A dual PID closed-loop controller for speed and current was designed through coil diameter calculation.Simulations were conducted under various working conditions, and it was found that adding dynamic compensation can achieve stable tension control. The conclusion can provide a design basis for the actual control system on site.
