CAUSES AND CONTROL OF EDGE CRACKS IN THICK-GAUGE Q355C HOT-ROLLED STRIP STEEL
To address the issue of numerous irregular cracks occurring on both the upper and lower surfaces at the edges of the thick-gauge Q355C hot-rolled coil sheets during production, this paper delves into potential factors causing edge cracks by focusing on several key aspects such as adjustment of molten steel composition, precision calibration of equipment, and control of the cooling process.Based on these analyses,we have proposed a series of targeted process optimization measures aimed at comprehensively enhancing the quality of the steel and the efficiency of production.Through these improvements,we hope to achieve the goals of reducing the occurrence of edge cracks in hot-delivered slabs and increasing the yield rate, thereby ensuring the reliability and economic benefits of the final product.
