Can Government Digital Social Innovation Facilitate Creating Shared Value in the Enterprise?—Evidence from the City Brain
Creating shared value is a central way for enterprises to advance the realization of the national strategy of shared prosperity,and is affected by changes in government governance behavior.However,whether and how government digital social innovation,a new form of change in government governance behavior,affects creating shared value in the enterprise remains to be argued.It constructed a theoretical link between government digital social innovation and creating shared value in the enterprise based on transaction cost theory.Using the quasi-natural experiment of introducing city brains one after another in cities in China,it finds through a multi-period difference-in-difference model that government digital social innovation promotes creating shared value in the enterprise.Moreover,the higher the level of government digital social innovation represented by city brain service breadth and application clarity,the better the performance of creating shared value in the enterprise.Mechanism inspection indicated that managerial ability and political connection respectively have a positive and negative moderating effect on the relationship between government digital social innovation and creating shared value in the enterprise from the perspective of strategic leadership of enterprise managers.The conclusions complement research on the drivers of creating shared value in the enterprise,and provide a theoretical explanation about the topic about the effects and boundary conditions of government digital social innovation on shared value creation in the enterprise.
