Impact of Digital Platform Ecological Embeddedness on Business Model Innovation—Based on the Resource Orchestration Theory
Digital platform ecosystem is an important carrier to alleviate resource and capability constraints of enterprises and promote their business model innovation,but how digital platform ecological embedding affects business model innovation has not been fully revealed.Based on the resource orchestration theory,it constructed and tested the dual mediation model of the effect of digital platform ecological embeddedness on business model innovation through capability evolutionary reconstruction and capability substitution reconstruction,and explored the moderating effect of organizational agility.It finds that digital platform ecological embedding positively affects business model innovation.Capability evolution reconstruction and capability substitution reconstruction play a double mediating role in the relationship between digital platform ecological embedding and business model innovation.Organizational agility not only strengthens the positive relationship between digital platform ecological embedding and capability evolution reconfiguration and capability substitution reconfiguration,but also positively strengthens the mediation path through which digital platform ecological embedding affects business model innovation through capability evolution reconfiguration and substitution reconfiguration.The results enrich the antecedents of business model innovation and provide practical guidance for enterprises to embed digital platform ecosystem in business model innovation.
