Influence of Multidimensional Proximity on the Survival Time of International Technical Standards—Survival Analysis Based on ITU International Technical Standards
On the background of rapid technological change and iteration,building technical standards alliance is important for all types of organizations.Driven by the internationalization and diversification of the organizational structure of the technical standard alliance,heterogeneity of alliance members has an important impact on the technical standard survival time.Based on collaborative innovation theory,the survival analysis method is employed to analyze the relationship between multidimensional proximity and technical standard survival time based on the data from the ITU international technical standards Alliance from 2010 to 2021.It finds that geographic proximity and technological proximity significantly improve the survival time of the ITU international technical standards.Organizational proximity and institutional proximity have a significant negative impact on the survival time of the ITU international technical standards.The interaction between geographic proximity and technological proximity,organizational proximity and institutional proximity have a significant negative impact on the survival time of the ITU international technical standards.The interaction between geographic proximity and organizational proximity,geographic proximity and institutional proximity,technological proximity and organizational proximity,and technological proximity and institutional proximity have a significant positive impact on the survival time of the ITU international technical standards.It helps to deepen the theoretical explanation of collaborative innovation of technical standards alliances,and enriches the research of the driving factors of technical standard survival time,which provides an important management implication for practice of international technical standards in ICT industry.
