How Technology Transfer Efficiency Affects the Integrated Development of Rural Industries?
The integration of rural industries represents a crucial approach to transforming agricultural development mode, expanding avenues for increasing farmers'income, and advancing the establishment of an agricultural power. However,it should not be overlooked that the disconnection between technology and industry is still an urgent problem that restricts the integrated development of rural industries. It empirically analyzed the impact and the mechanism of technology transfer efficiency on the integrated development of rural industries based on panel data from 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020 with the fixed-effects model. It finds that the improvement of technology transfer efficiency helps to promote the level of integrated development of rural industries. The conclusion remains robust after controlling for endogeneity and performing robustness analyses.Technology transfer efficiency mainly affects the level of integrated development of rural industries through two paths, namely, the improvement of agricultural total factor productivity and the promotion of rural labor migration. The results of further analysis indicate that the impact of technology transfer efficiency on the integrated development of rural industries is constrained by technology transfer policies and regional resource endowments, with rural human capital playing a threshold role in it.It not only provides insights for understanding how technology transfer efficiency affects the integrated development of rural industries, but also provides policy implications for promoting the integrated development of rural industries from the perspective of technology transfer efficiency.
