Impact of Methylprednisolone Combined with Vitamin D on Thyroid Function and Inflammatory Response of Patients with Subacute Thyroiditis
Objective To explore the clinical effect of methylprednisolone combined with vitamin D in the treatment of subacute thyroiditis. Methods 80 patients with subacute thyroiditis were randomly divided into two groups, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with methylprednisolone, and the study group was treated with methylprednisolone combined with vitamin D.The thyroid function[free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)],inflammatory indicators[erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP)]and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the levels of FT3 and FT4 in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the TSH level was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of ESR and CRP in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).During the treatment,no obvious adverse reaction occurred in the two groups. Conclusions Methylprednisolone combined with vitamin D in the treatment of patients with subacute thyroiditis can obviously improve their thyroid function, reduce inflammatory response, and has high safety.
