Impact of Edaravone Combined with α-Lipoic Acid on Clinical Symptoms and Nerve Conduction Function in Patients with Diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy
Objective To explore the impact of edaravone combined with α-lipoic acid on clinical symptoms and nerve conduction function in patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy. Methods 150 patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, with 75 cases in each group. The control group was treated with α-lipoic acid, and the observation group was treated with edaravone combined with α-lipoic acid. The clinical symptom scores, nerve conduction velocity and incidence of drug-related adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the symptom scores of burning, tingling, numbness and hypoesthesia in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the conduction velocities of tibial nerve, ulnar nerve and common peroneal nerve were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).No statistical difference was found in the incidence of adverse reactions(4.0%vs.5.3%)between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Edaravone combined with α-lipoic acid has significant clinical effect in the treatment of diabetes peripheral neuropathy, which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and nerve conduction velocity, with good safety.
