Impact of Micro-Implant Anchorage on Orthodontic Effect and Dental Function of Patients with Periodontitis Complicated with Malocclusion
Objective To explore the impact of micro-implant anchorage(MIA)on orthodontic effect and dental function of patients with periodontitis complicated with malocclusion. Methods A total of 90 patients with periodontitis complicated with malocclusion were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with headgear anchorage(HGA),and the study group was treated with MIA.The success rate of orthodontic treatment, cycle of orthodontic treatment and dental function were compared between the two groups. Results The success rate of orthodontic treatment in the study group was 93.33%,significantly higher than 75.56%in the control group(P<0.05);The cycle of orthodontic treatment in the study group was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of tooth occlusion, oral expression, swallowing and chewing in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with HGA,MIA can significantly improve the success rate of orthodontic treatment of patients with periodontitis complicated with malocclusion, shorten the cycle of orthodontic treatment and improve the dental function of patients.
