Clinical Effect of Ranibizumab Combined with Fundus Laser in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion Complicated with Macular Edema
Objective To explore the clinical effect of ranibizumab combined with fundus laser in the treatment of elderly patients with branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO)complicated with macular edema(ME).Methods 102 cases of elderly patients with BRVO complicated with ME were randomly divided into reference group and study group. The reference group was treated with fundus laser, and the study group was treated with ranibizumab combined with fundus laser. The clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 94.12%,higher than 80.39%in the reference group(P<0.05).6 months after treatment, the best corrected distance visual acuity(BCVA)of the study group was higher than that of the reference group, and the central macular thickness(CMT)and serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)level were lower than those of the reference group(P<0.05).During the follow-up,no statistical difference was found in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Ranibizumab combined with fundus laser in the treatment of elderly patients with BRVO complicated with ME can significantly improve the clinical efficacy, reduce the macular edema of the patients, lower the serum VEGF level, and promote the recovery of visual acuity with high safety, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
