Detection Value of White Blood Cell Count Combined with C-Reactive Protein and Procalcitonin in Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
Objective To explore the detection value of WBC,CRP and PCT for upper respiratory tract infections. Methods 106 children with upper respiratory tract infection from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected as infection group, and 100 healthy children at the same time were selected as healthy group. The WBC,CRP and PCT levels of both groups were detected. The infection group was divided into bacterial infection group and viral infection group, mild group and severe group according to laboratory test results and disease severity. The WBC,CRP and PCT levels were compared among children with different infection types and different disease severity. Results The WBC,CRP and PCT levels of the infection group were higher than those of the healthy group(P<0.05).The WBC,CRP and PCT of the bacterial infection group were higher than those of the viral infection group(P<0.05).The WBC,CRP and PCT levels of the severe group were higher than that of the mild group(P<0.05).Conclusions WBC,CRP and PCT can be used in the diagnosis of upper respiratory tract infection, and the WBC,CRP and PCT levels are significantly different between children with bacterial infection and viral infection, severe and mild illness, which can be used to identify the infection types and evaluate the disease severity.
