Changes of Serum IL-6 and PCT Levels in Patients with Acute Leukemia Complicated with Infection and the Correlation with Infection Severity
Objective To analyze the changes of serum interleukin-6(IL-6)and procalcitonin(PCT)levels in patients with acute leukemia complicated with infection and the correlation with infection severity. Methods 82 patients with acute leukemia admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into infection group(30 cases)and non-infection group(52 cases)according to whether they were complicated with infection. In addition, the infection group was divided into mild group(19 cases)and severe group(11 cases)according to the infection severity. The serum IL-6 and PCT levels were compared among groups, and the correlation with the infection severity in patients with acute leukemia complicated with infection was analyzed. Results The serum IL-6 and PCT levels of the infection group were higher than those of the non-infection group(P<0.05).The serum IL-6 and PCT levels of the severe group were higher than those of the mild group(P<0.05).Kendall's tau-b correlation test showed that the serum IL-6 and PCT levels were positively correlated with the infection severity in patients with acute leukemia complicated with infection(r=0.785,0.615,P=0.000,0.000).Conclusions The serum IL-6 and PCT levels of patients with acute leukemia complicated with infection significantly increase, and the expression levels are significantly positively correlated with the infection severity.
