Comparison on the Effects of Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty and Total Knee Arthroplasty in the Treatment of Uni-lateral Knee Osteoarthritis
Objective To compare the effects of unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA)and total knee arthroplasty(TKA)in the treatment of unilateral knee osteoarthritis(OA).Methods 96 patients with unilateral OA were divided into UKA group and TKA group according to different surgical methods. The three-dimensional gait, kinematic parameters, pain degree and knee joint function were compared between the two groups. Results After surgery, the walking speed, step frequency, step length, affected single leg support time, knee joint mobility and KSS score of UKA group were higher than those of TKA group, the gait cycle was shorter than that of TKA group, and the VAS score was lower than that of TKA group(P<0.05).Conclusions UKA can improve the three-dimensional gait and kinematic parameters of patients with unilateral OA,reduce the pain degree, and improve knee joint function.
