Effect of Magnesium Valproate Combined with Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid in the Treatment of Epilepsy
Objective To observe the effect and safety of magnesium valproate combined with vitamin B12 and folic acid in the treatment of epilepsy. Methods 131 patients with epilepsy were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with magnesium valproate, and the observation group was treated with vitamin B12 and folic acid on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effect, serum indicators, adverse reactions and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was 96.67%,higher than 84.62%in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of Hcy and blood ammonia in the two groups increased, but those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).No significant difference was found in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).The recurrence rate in the observation group was 1.52%,lower than 10.77%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Magnesium valproate combined with vitamin B12 and folic acid has good short-term and long-term effects in the treatment of epilepsy, which can reduce Hcy and blood ammonia levels, with acceptable safety.
