Determination of Residual Sulfur Dioxide in Chinese Medicinal Lilium Brownii by Ion Chromatography
Object:A new method was established to determine residual sulfur dioxide in Lilium brownii by ion chromatography with conducting detection. Methods:Samples were extracted by acid distillation. The separation was performed on an Dionex IonPac AS19 anion analytical column. The mobile phase consisted of 40 mmol/L KOH solution in isocratic elution at a flow rate of 1.0mL/min.Auto-generated conducting detection ASRS ULTRA II 4mm was used. Results:The results showed that the linear relation of residual sulfur dioxide was good in the range of 0.0~200μg/mL(r=0.9998).The limits of detection of the method was 2.26mg/kg and the limit of quantitation was 7.53mg/kg.The average recoveries of residual sulfur dioxide in Lilium browniiranged between 91.52%~98.65%at different spiked levels with relative standard deviation from 0.89%to 1.54%.Precision was from 0.40 to 0.57%.Conclusion:The convenient operation and versatility of this method is suitable for the fast screening and detection of residual sulfur dioxide in Lilium brownii.
