Experimental research of optimized testing method on the gasket parameters based on leakage rate
Maintenance factor m and yield factor y are two key gasket parameters in the design of bolted flange joints. However, the wildly used y and m values in ASME Ⅷ.1 and GB/T 150.3 code are derived from engineering experience, which are based on structural strength and are not related to the leakage level.By researching and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of current testing method on gasket parameters,a new optimized testing method was proposed, which is much more in line with the domestic gasket standard system and engineering application. The comparison experiments and verification tests on the 8 typical kinds of gaskets were carried out, showing that the test results have an error of about 1%.The porous model and Logistic model were used to fit the test results. The results show that the procedure and parameters of the new method are more reasonable. It can be used for reference in the design of bolted flange joints.
