Effect of Body Surface Positioning Line on Radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
Objective To investigate the effect of body surface positioning line on radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods A total of 184 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy patients with two different fixation methods were selected as the study objects.Group A was fixed with U-shaped positioning membrane+polyurethane headrest, and group B was fixed with S-shaped positioning membrane+polyurethane foam positioning pad.CBCT scan was performed once a week to correct the position and record the positioning error.According to the presence or absence of the patient's body surface positioning line, they were recorded as A1/A0 group and B1/B0 group, respectively.Pairwise paired t-test was performed among the groups and compared according to different age groups. Results The setup errors of each group from small to large were B1 group,B0 group,A1 group and A0 group. The linear setup errors of A0 group and B1 group were(0.24±0.08),(0.33±0.15),(0.33±0.07)cm and(0.13±0.06),(0.16±0.07),(0.15±0.08)cm,respectively.The rotational setup errors were(1.60±0.60)°,(1.30±0.60)°,(1.50±0.70)° and(0.90±0.40)°,(0.80±0.40)°,(0.80±0.30)°,respectively.The overall setup error was statistically significant between B1 group and A0 group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in setup error between different age groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The body surface positioning line combined with S-type positioning film+polyurethane foam positioning pad can improve the positioning accuracy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy target area, and has clinical practical significance.
