Study on the Effect of Different Detector Widths Based on ATCM Technology of Head and Neck CT Angiography Image Quality and Radiation Exposure
Objective To explore the effect of different detector widths based on automatic tube current modulation(ATCM)technology on the image quality and radiation exposure of head and neck CT angiography(CTA).Methods A total of 120 cases of head and neck CTA examination images and clinical data who visited Sunshine Union Hospital from June 2022 to May 2023 were selected.According to the different detector widths, they were divided into group A(40 mm)and group B(80 mm),with 60 cases in each group. There were 20 cases of patients with normal weight, overweight, and obese patients respectively. The image quality and radiation dose of the two groups were compared under different detector widths scanning conditions. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the head and neck image quality noise ratio among normal weight, overweight, and obese patients under different detector widths(P>0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the head and neck image quality CT value ratio among normal weight, overweight, and obese patients under different detector widths(P>0.05);The dose length product of normal, overweight, and obese patients with 40 mm detector width spiral scanning was lower than that of 80 mm detector width spiral scanning, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Selection of 40 mm detector width based on ATCM can ensure the image quality of head and neck CTA and reduce radiation exposure.
